Our Beliefs

COME TOGETHER

Life isn’t meant to be lived alone, and we all need a place to belong. At Living Hope, we believe that the church is not meant to be just a welcoming place but also a community of belonging. Communities are built by coming together for a common cause, building relationships with others, and serving together.

Our worship services are the hub of all this activity, and we believe that consistent worship attendance is key to sustained spiritual growth. Living Hope meets together for worship each Sunday at 10 a.m., and we hope you’ll join us for this time.

Hebrews 10:24-25
Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

GROW TOGETHER

In addition to regular attendance at worship services, we engage in other spiritual disciplines to energize our growing relationship with Christ.

Baptism

We believe that immersion baptism upon the the repentance of sins is the public proclamation of our spiritual transformation. Baptism is the formal beginning of our walk with Christ.

Matthew 28:18-20
Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Daily Scripture Reading & Study

An essential part of our worship each Sunday is opening the Bible together and learning of God’s love, wisdom, and plan for us. However, this time of once-a-week Scripture reading is not enough to spur spiritual growth and depth. At Living Hope, we encourage each other to be students of the Bible through a daily period of reading and prayer.

Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

Prayer

It is through deep and persistent prayer that we come to know God and ourselves. At Living Hope we believe in the power of prayer to grow, heal, and transform lives. We believe that God hears us when we pray.

1 Peter 3:12
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer.

Relationships With Other Christians

A crucial part of our walk with Jesus is the relationships with other Christians and the encouragement they provide to help us mature and grow in Christ. We cannot become spiritually strong apart from others. We need others to help us become our best.

Ephesians 4:15-17
Speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

Giving

Although there is no requirement for tithing in the New Testament, giving of our resources is just as much an act of worship as praying and singing. Also, through giving, Christians experience the depth of God’s blessings. For these very reasons Living Hope encourages consistent giving on the part of our members. The two primary methods used when giving is (1) a locked drop box that is hung on the wall at the back of the auditorium, and (2) using their bank’s Bill Pay feature to give on a recurring basis.

Luke 6:38
Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over; will be poured into your lap. For the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

SERVE & SHARE TOGETHER

We believe that shared service and giving to others is basic to our Christian walk. We work to provide areas where everyone can connect, use their talents, and make a difference.

Psalm 90:17
May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us — yes, establish the work of our hands.

We invite you, and hope for you to be a part of Living Hope, serving and sharing life together.
